This commercially built vessel is privately owned and operated by ABC Snorkel Charters Port Douglas. It’s 16m long and 5m wide and can travel up to 200 nautical miles offshore, providing guests a comfortable day on the Reef.

This 48’ Monohull is licensed for 25 passengers and 4 crew, but our Reef snorkelling day tours are capped at a maximum of 12 guests. We look forward to welcoming you aboard.

ABC Snorkel Charters Port Douglas’ private boat Independence 1 is fully equipped with the latest safety equipment, quality snorkel equipment and all the amazing amenities needed to make your day enjoyable. Independence 1 is very beamy, approximately 5m wide and has a comfortable cruising speed of 20-22 knots and a maximum in excess of 28 knots. Its shallow draft enables it to access lagoon reef sites not visited by other, bigger boats.

Comfortable dining table and seating for 4 people inside, with more outside.undercover seating, with 2 tables of 6 people. While the rear deck side has seating for a further 6 people, also undercover.

Independence 1 is ideal for Reef Snorkel Trips. The air-conditioned interior has a comfortable dining table and seating for 4 people. The large rear deck space has undercover seating, with 2 tables of 6 people. While the rear deck side has seating for a further 6 people, also undercover.

The small bow is ideal for viewing the Reef below and easy water access is provided by 2 large ladders on the rear platform. Independence 1 comfortable in fairly rough seas approximately 20-25knots of wind maximum. She rides softly in most sea conditions and has 2 toilet bathrooms.
