Are you passionate about the ocean, marine life, and sharing your knowledge with others? ABC Snorkel Charters is seeking an enthusiastic Marine Biologist/Linguist to join our team as a boat guide, offering guests a unique, educational, and Eco-friendly experience on the Great Barrier Reef.

At ABC Snorkel Charters, we are committed to delivering small-group, personalized tours of the Great Barrier Reef. Our guides provide expert knowledge and a welcoming environment to ensure our guests leave with unforgettable memories and a deeper appreciation for marine conservation.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a marine guide during snorkeling tours, providing guests with insightful information about marine life, coral ecosystems, and reef conservation.
- Lead educational presentations on board, explaining reef biodiversity and environmental impacts.
- Assist guests with snorkeling equipment, offer safety briefings, and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all passengers.
- Engage with international guests by offering explanations in multiple languages (linguistic skills are a plus!).
- Promote Eco-friendly practices, encouraging sustainable tourism and marine conservation.
- Support boat crew with tour operations when needed.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Marine Biology or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of coral reefs and marine ecosystems.
- Local knowledge an advantage
- Linguistic abilities in one or more additional languages (highly desirable).
- Passion for environmental education and conservation.
- Previous experience as a guide, instructor, or in marine tourism (preferred).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage diverse audiences.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification and Open Water Diver certification (required).
- Physical fitness to meet the demands of snorkeling, swimming, and working outdoors.
